Livin' our Love Song

Today is how did you meet your husband/fiance day at Kelly's Korner, so here goes:

Nate and I didn't meet until summer after my sophomore year in college. When we thing back, we realize we were at the same place at the same time, and just never happened to notice each other. The reason for this is his best friend and my best friend have been dating since they were 14. Nate, Jason and Kate all went to Oak Hill High school together. Kate and I have been best friends since we were five and went to elementary and middle school together, but when High School came around I went to St. Dom's.

Nate and I finally met one night at a bon fire at Jason's house. Kate had invited me to come over after my banquet shift, and Jason was having a few friends over. When I arrived Jason and Nate and a few of their buddies were sitting around the fire hanging out. I immediately took notice of Nate but he didn't really say much to me. Kate and I pretty much hung out by ourselves that night and went to bed before all the boys. I crashed on the couch, which later I found out Nate was mad at me for because there was an air mattress on the floor and he thought that would be more comfortable and felt like a jerk for sleeping on it.

The next morning I was trying to chat Nate and up and he really wasn't saying much. I learned that his family had a camp on a lake and I invited myself and Kate and Jason to come to the lake to hang out that day. We spent the whole day out on the boat swimming and having a great time, and Nate literally didn't say two words to me. I made complete fool out of myself, because when I'm nervous I talk, a mile a minute, and sound like a bimbo. But somehow I managed to impress him (and his family, as I learned that after we left that day Nate's dad said to him "you better hang onto that girl!")

So, that's it! Ever since then we've been together. We've been through living in separate states while I was at school and working crazy different hours.

After 3 years of dating, my family and Nate and I went on a trip to NYC for Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving Nate took me down to Central Park. We went for a horse drawn carriage ride, went for a walk around the park and found this very beautiful stone bridge....

WHERE HE PROPOSED!! (This is the reenactment my mother made us do!! ha ha) So on August 20, 2011 I will be Mrs. Danielle Eaton! Yay!! So Exciting!

I named my blog after us, after "Livin' our Love Song" by Jason Michael Carroll. The song is so perfect for us, because he's a woodsy, hardworking, hunting, manly man and I've always been the gentle, pampered princess :) but somehow, we are perfect for each other!

(P.S. This is the location for our wedding ceremony! Won't this view be killer?!)
